Job Description

We are currently on a quest to find a motivated and pioneering manager to support our talented Marketing Team to foster an environment of collaboration and create successful campaigns across our multisite portfolio of visitor attractions.

A creative thinking tactician with a track record of proven results, you will thrive in a team that has an ambition to constantly overreach its targets, guiding the organisation to share its vision, mission and values to as wide an audience as possible.
You will be a brand champion, with an eye for detail, ensuring our new visual identity is embedded and deployed across the organisation as it should be, ensuring consistent storytelling across all areas of the business.
With a demonstrable background in the high achieving use of traditional techniques of marketing and communications, you will also be up to date with the use of digital technology and will be able to work confidently alongside our digital team to collaborate on all campaigns to consistently deliver the best results.
Able to talk to all audiences, you will have experience of delivering Audience Development Plans and have an understanding of the application of robust visitor surveying and data in underpinning the future planning for Marketing, Programming, Development and Curatorial work.
You will understand the importance of financial sustainability to Lakeland Arts , to ensure its future security and success, and will be able to react to changing terrain as it arrives. You will also be a strategic planner, and will work across teams to ensure that MarComms campaigns contribute to increased footfall across our sites, extend our reputation for high quality programming, communicate the work of our Curatorial and Participation programmes, understand and realise our need to improve our commercial income.
Job Duties:
• Strategy – Supporting the Head of MarComms, and working collaboratively with the Senior Digital Officer, to deliver the marketing strategy for Lakeland Arts with a particular focus on the campaign thread of traditional marketing.
• Campaigns – Plan and develop MarComms campaigns to develop new audiences and deepen the relationship with existing ones for all of our sites, programmes and activities. You will also work closely with the digital team to plan and deliver cost effective marketing (digital and traditional) across campaign planning to ensure consistency of messaging.
• PR - Develop and enhance Lakeland Arts’ media relations, with a specific focus on arts and cultural media, international audiences, the travel trade market and thinking about how we build our B2B strategic partnerships and offer.
• Budget – ensure cost effective marketing at all times and support the day-to-day management of the departmental budget.
• Print - Deliver high quality marketing collateral, publications and our publishing plan with appropriate providers ensuring value for money and choices made in line with our sustainability principles.
• Monitoring – Analyse and evaluate all marketing campaigns to assess the failures and successes for building into all forward planning.
• Audiences – Know who we’re talking to now, and who aren’t and should be. Working closely with the Visitor Experience team, ensure that a schedule of regular in-house and commissioned visitor research is carried out to ensure that our Audience Development Plan is always as responsive to business needs as it needs to be for our strategic and business planning, meeting external funding data requirements and giving partnership feedback. The agency we are currently working with are the arts specialists, the Audience Agency.
• Brand - Promote and co-manage the Lakeland Arts brand and values, acting as a brand guardian to manage the brand guidelines internally and externally. Champion accessible, intelligent communication across all media and digital platforms to share information with the widest possible audience and raise the profile of Lakeland Arts to wider audiences.
• Policy - Ensure all CRM databases are updated, developed, maintained and compliant with data protection legislation.
