INTERIOR design MANAGER
At Gilpin Hotel & Lake House
Location: Windermere
Contract: Full time
Salary: Competitive
Posted date: 24/08/21
We are seeking an Interiors Manager to implement an exciting variety of projects from new build to existing refurbishments which is ongoing every year.
Gilpin has established itself as one of the leading UK design hotels, differentiated through beautiful design in which every room, from bars to restaurants to bedrooms, are all distinctly different. We do not have a conformity of design across the hotel, although we have a strong flavour of nature indoors, given our beautiful location and private Spa concept.
We are designer led, but also guest led, and all projects must result in coordinated spaces, from the wall coverings to the furniture, through to the smallest tea pot. Every detail is considered to achieve a stylish wow factor, whilst also appealing to a wide spectrum of guests in comfort, practicality, warmth calm and well being.
As Interiors Manager you will manage and encourage collaboration of the creative design, with many passionate and experienced stakeholders including the owners, architects, 3rd party interior designers, the in house development team and the hotel management team.
You will be expected to project manage implementation, working alongside the development team and the accounts team. We undertake most buildings works ourselves, as well as purchasing, and deadlines are usually critical as they most often impact hotel operations with serious revenue implications. For Gilpin particularly, interiors also includes exteriors as almost all our suites have their own outside space. And long after the project has gone live, it will be important to set standards and work with the housekeeping team and maintenance teams to ensure breakages, replacements and repairs are in keeping with the original creative vision.
The owners and their team are very experienced in both design and projects and have always had a very hands on approach. The interiors manager would be reporting directly to the directors and may be just starting their career, or be highly experienced.
All applicants are to have strong design ideas, but also be respectful of our guest led approach, be a strong team player, willing to share and include different ideas, be highly organised, budget aware, and be as happy worrying over the detail, as much as the grand concepts.
Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is a 5 star family in the Lake District with a great team and a friendly environment. We are immensely proud to have been voted Hotel of the Year 2013 (Johansens), 2012 (Catey’s), 2011-12 (AA), 2010 (ETB).
Why not take a look at our website to see what a great place the Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is to work.
