The Lakeside Hotel and Spa, Newby Bridge is under new ownership having been acquired by classic lodges. With plans to invest and develop the hotel, it is an exciting time to come on board. We are looking to grow the team ready for the summer season.

To expand and strengthen the leadership team, we are recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Manager – to take full responsibility for the sales team at the hotel alongside central support from the Classic Lodges team. If you are passionate about sales, analytical and creative and fancy living in the Lake District this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the senior leadership team contribute to the overall operational and strategic direction and delivery of the hotel.

  • Attend and actively participate in SLT meetings and implement actions as required.

  • Lead on strategy planning; co-ordinating; implementing; and monitoring of sales and marketing activities to drive growth.

  • Capture, review and monitor stats for all revenue lines to identify trends, opportunities and to assist with accurate forecasting.

  • An enthusiasm and desire to create a buzz amongst the wider team around selling and conversion.

Sales:

  • Specific focus around growing M&E enquiries and conversion.

  • Create and implement a robust rooms revenue plan to maximise accommodation yield across all seasons reducing the reliance on OTA channels.

  • To achieve total budgeted sales for the financial year.

  • Create and implement a S&M planner with tangible monthly targets and results. 

  • Ensure a positive sales culture across all departments within the hotel with key metrics measured and regularly shared with the operational teams.

  • Regular review of pricing and competitor analysis.

  • To nurture existing clients and contacts at the same time as actively ‘hunting’ down new business in partnership with the central team.

Media and Communication

  • Take the lead with media engagement, both pro-active and re-active. To deliver the organisation's communications, media, and PR strategy.

  • Develop strategies to build the organisations brand across all sectors.

Media and Communication

  • Act as the strategic lead for all marketing and advertising campaigns and activities working in partnership with the central team.

  • To understand the existing demographic and identify opportunities to target a different audience.

  • Manage the production and circulation of marketing and communications material across all departments in line with agreed branding guidelines.

  • Oversee the nature and tone of content, and adherence to branding, across the organisation's digital channels

  • Support and develop the knowledge of the sales office team around marketing to engage and promote the hotel.

  • Nurture strategic relationships with key event/media partners and stakeholders.

  • Be responsible for the hotel data base and emailer content in partnership with the central team.
