The Lake District Hotel Association represents some of the finest and largest independent and branded properties in Cumbria.  Cumbria’s visitor economy is hugely important to our way of life: the county hosts around 47 million tourists annually which sustains approximately 26% of the county’s working population and over 20% of our economy. 

We are keen to promote the fabulous employment and career opportunities in hospitality and tourism and support our members in their recruitment.  To do this we are looking to appoint an individual on an initial 18 month working on a flexible 25 – 30 hours per week contract who will represent members and develop strong links with schools and colleges in Cumbria.

The Role

Developed between the members, after a period of researching and planning, the proposed job description is varied and focused on the medium and short term recruitment and retention needs in the region.

It incorporates:

• Marketing employment in hospitality:

• Promoting recruitment opportunities

• Developing work experience & schools/Career hub liaison

• Support for our members on recruitment events & retention workshops/training

• Co-ordinating the lobbying for access to International staff

• Administration & Communication, including achieving new memberships
