Kirkstone Pass Closure - 16 to 30 April 2024

A592

Whilst the latest closure finishes today (28th March) in time for Easter holidays, heavy snowfalls in December followed by severe storms in January and February have meant we have experienced delays to planned work overall on the route, which was closed to all vehicles during the worst of the recent weather.  As the result of the delay, the Council has recently advised the Community Stakeholder Group that we require a further 2-week closure in April to complete resurfacing work on the North side of the Pass.  The next closure will take place from the 16 - 30 April 2024.

During the next full closure, the road will undergo a complete closure which means that vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists are not permitted to access the area.  During the closure, we kindly request that you do not attempt to access the work site.  As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure environment, we will be placing barriers on the site to ensure the safety of the public.
