Westmorland Family are launching our very first Cookery School in collaboration with Kendal College. Cookery School is a 12-18 month apprenticeship programme providing a bespoke food based learning journey to understand our farm to fork ethos.

Recently featured in our Channel 4 documentary ‘A Lake District Farm Shop’, we take huge pride in our place and its surroundings. Our farm feeds our business and we’re proud to work with local suppliers to help provide us with the best seasonal ingredients from exceptional producers.

The Role

Rotating across multiple sites in Cumbria, including Rheged, Westmorland Hotel, our award-winning Service Stations and our very own Production Kitchen, participants have a fantastic opportunity to enhance their passion for food, develop culinary knowledge and skills whilst building a career with a local family business.

Expect to visit local suppliers, experience our family farm, develop skills in our bakery and butchery, attend market & trade show visits and learn to forage for ingredients in our local surroundings.

The programme finishes with a fully paid celebration trip to enjoy some of the best hand-picked culinary experiences in the UK.

We have 9 positions available in Cumbria for those aged 16+ who have a passion for food. You will be part of a cohort who will learn and develop as a group under the guidance of our mentors. As a full-time member of our team, you will work in our busy kitchens on a day-to-day basis.
