As Chef at Windermere Jetty Museum, you will play an important role in the daily running of the kitchen. You will maintain excellent standards throughout the kitchen and will work as part of a team to prepare high-quality food.

This role will primarily cover the café’s normal opening hours but you can expect to work occasional late evenings for special events such as weddings and private functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team to ensure the successful running of the kitchen.

  • Ensuring a high standard is maintained.

  • Assisting with the daily check lists and diaries.

  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen.

  • Preparing food and running a section within the kitchen.

  • Work as part of a team to provide catering for private functions in the evenings on occasion.

  • Maintaining standards of service.

  • Managing stock rotation and deliveries effectively.

  • Shared responsibility for placing stock orders and storing food.Managing the running of the kitchen

  • Ensuring high standards in all aspects of food preparation and service are maintained

  • Keeping all relevant kitchen legislation documentation up to date

  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen

  • Provide occasional catering for private functions in the evenings on occasion as part of the wider team across Lakeland Arts sites

  • Developing new dishes and menus

  • Working successfully as part of an interdepartmental team unit

  • Managing stock rotation effectively

  • Having responsibility for purchasing and storing food

All roles will have responsibilities relating to the opening and closing procedures of each area and for the health and safety procedures for each area.
